Lee Zii Jia has officially missed out on qualification for the 2026 BWF World Championships in New Delhi, ending his streak of appearances at the tournament over the past six editions. The qualification was determined based on the world rankings released on April 27, where he had dropped to No. 82 following a challenging period marked by injuries and limited competition participation. As a result, Malaysia’s men’s singles slots were secured by Leong Jun Hao and Justin Hoh instead.
Although this setback is disappointing, Zii Jia has recently shown encouraging progress during Malaysia’s Thomas Cup campaign and has begun moving up the rankings again. While missing the championship is a significant blow, many supporters remain confident that the former All England champion and Olympic bronze medallist is capable of returning to top form in the near future.
