Teoh Mei Xing Signs Off Her Badminton Career on Home Soil
Teoh Mei Xing ended her career with a first-round exit at the Malaysia Super 100 in Johor, but says she is grateful her last tournament was at home and has no regrets.

Malaysian doubles specialist Teoh Mei Xing has brought her playing career to a close at the Malaysia Super 100 in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, and says she is thankful her final tournament came in front of a home crowd. Partnering Tan Zhi Yang, she bowed out in the first round at the EduCity Sports Complex Indoor Arena, where the Malaysians won the opening game 21-12 before South Korea's Jin Sung Ik and Lee Seung-hee came back to take it 21-17, 21-15.
Writing on Instagram after the match, Mei Xing admitted she would have loved to finish with a title, but said she had no regrets about the work she put in over more than a decade on the circuit. She acknowledged she was never a player who collected many major crowns, and thanked the fans, family and supporters who stood by her during the tougher stretches of her career.
Her best years came alongside Anna Cheong. Together the pair climbed as high as No. 17 in the world rankings, won the Czech Open in 2021 and lifted the Super 300 Syed Modi International title in 2022, results that made them one of Malaysia's more dependable women's doubles combinations during that period.
